33. Updated Production Schedule
We have updated our production schedule because we need to refilm some shots from our flashback scenes due to bad framing and lighting.

Reflection on Progress 1.
In this post I am going to do a reflection about my blogging compared to last year in AS Media Studies. Before I start, I would like to say I was in another sixth form last year and I am a new student in City and Islington College.
How well do you feel you are progressing with your blogging compared to last year?
I feel I am progressing very well compared to last year because I am introduced and encouraged to do more blogging by my media teachers and I receive feedback of my blog from them. I was in another sixth form last year and I was not highly encouraged that I am now. I can notice the difference between my teachers from last year and this year.
I find very helpful my teachers' feedback because I know exactly what and how to do blog posts in order to improve my blog.
What mark out of 20 would you give yourself at this point for use of different ICT and level of detail in your blogging?
I did not use a variety of ICT last year. This year I am encouraged to use different online tools I did not even know I could use in last year. I would give myself a 13 out of 20 because I feel like I have improved my ICT skills by using different online resources to present blog posts, and that is something I did not do in AS.
What three things do you need to do to improve?
The first thing would be do more blogging. The second one would be keeping up to date every blog post and the last one, using as many online tools as possible so that I get familiar with other different website that are useful for blogging.

23) Synergy in 3 productions.
These two objects are the ones we will be using within:
Our Digipak/CD Cover
Our Trailer
Our Music Video
Our music video/genre is folk, we believe that these objects fit in with this genre.
Where the original song is made up of instruments and we mostly hear the guitar, this will be shown in the music video along with the artist.
The bowler hat is just something we thought we would add to the outfit to give it that folky look.
17) Original music video analysis
GABRIELLE APLIN- HOME
In the music video, we see Gabrielle in a long shot, looking over a river in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. In our music video, this will differ, due to the fact that this is only a student made music video.
We decided to stick to the open space, long shot scenario. We will be shooting at Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill. It will give the sense of loneliness that this scene portrays.
Due to the four of us all putting in money for whatever is needed, we decided to change the fact that Gabrielle goes into a Motel for some of the scenes, We will be filming the indoor scenes at Diana's house, specifically using her bedroom, living room and bathroom.
In the scenes where she is singing the chorus, instead of having scenes of her singing and thinking, we will film scenes of our artist with her boyfriend and use these scenes as a sort of flashback. She sings the chorus three times but we will only make the chorus a flashback twice.
We originally planned to have our artist at a cafe, however most places don't allow filming so we decided to leave that bit out and replace it with some indoor/home scenes, either her by herself, or her with her boyfriend.

14) Reflection on Progress
How well do you feel you are progressing with your blogging compared to last year?
Looking back and analysing my work from last year, I think that I have gone down in the amount of work I am providing and the frequency of my posts.
Last year I was more concentrated and motivated but this year I have let myself down, I hope to be up-to-date on my blogs and that I contribute more to my group, by helping them more with the editing or anything else.
What mark out of 20 would you give yourself at this point for use of different ICT and level of detail in your blogging?
I honestly think that I haven't varied my ICT in my posts, I usually tend to just type my work and add some images. I would probably give myself an 8. I hope to bring this up before the 4th of December so I will have a strong grade and have positive feedback at the end.
What three things do you need to improve?
The three most important things I definitely need to improve, is:
Frequency in blog posts
Different forms of ICT in my blogs
Detailed posts.

My Camera Work Throughout Filming

A good starting point when reflecting on my camera work is definitely the first and second day of shooting, it was the first two days we filmed any footage for the music video.
I already had knowledge of camera work from the previous year but sometimes the basics were not considered.
I'd often frame some shots unsuccessfully; there'd be too much space above the head or the camera would be tilted unintentionally. These little errors made it obvious that not enough care was being taken when filming.
A music video often has footage taken hand held (holding the camera or using a fig rig). I found this especially difficult when shooting base tracks. The camera is quite heavy, so having to hold it reasonably still for over three minutes was tricky.
I was critical of my work when we got to editing and the errors were more evident when we saw the footage on a bigger screen. We, as a group, decided it was best to re-film some shots for various reasons; lighting and framing being the main issues.
When it came to re-filming (3rd filming day), I was more aware of how certain camera work looks on the bigger screen. I knew to keep framing in mind in particular and this proved successful as our replacement shots are much better framed.
Feedback From Friends On Draft
I asked some of my friends to look at my groups rough draft of the music video and give some feedback (both positive and negative points).
My friends fit into our target audience - they were girls aged between 16-24.

I managed to get some responses.
I made a video with some captions of their comments alongside the video to help visualise how we could improve the video based on these comments.

These are some of the messages I received from my friends when I asked them whether they could give some feedback on our rough draft music video:
I then asked my friends if they liked our music video draft, the majority said yes and the person that said no gave reasons. They said that they like the concept but doesn't like it out of sync near the end and will happily watch it again and give an opinion once it is finished.

Bloopers
This is a video we put together of footage that we didn't consider good enough for the final video or footage where we were laughing or discussing how we wanted certain shots filmed.

38. Second Filming Day - Diana's House
For our second day of filming we met at Diana's house to film all our flashback scenes of the artist with her love interest. Every member of the group managed to find their way to Diana's house and we started at the time planned. We managed to film all the remaining scenes and finished before the time planned.
