Do:
- Use two clear fonts as a maximum. The two clear fonts I am using are: "Lucida console" and "Snell Roundhand"
- Three colours as a maximum. I decided to go for black and white and dark brown.
- Clear photos. My group and I decided to re-take new pictures in order to have a variety of clear ones.
- Remember to include barcode, date, copyright information, title of the album, artist name, record company logo, website and artist website.
Don´t:
- Use unnecessary effects. Any text or image effects must suit the genre. Don´t go mad using Photoshop. I do not know how to use Photoshop. I attended two workshops to learn the basic (there is a blog post about that workshop)
- Stretch images to fit the panel. I have to keep this is mind and I will ask my teacher about my website background as it might be a stretched image.
- Place text across the face of the artist. Although this seems quite obvious as none of the website that I have seen have text across the face of the artist. This is a tip to keep in mind.
- Use fonts simply because you like them. The fonts I have mentioned (lucida console and snell roundhand) are based on other fonts I have seen from ancillary products from the same/similar genre as our original artist.
- Feel you need to have photos on every panel. Too many photos will lose marks. I only have one picture of our artist River for the background and a gallery layout showing different photos of the music video and River.
